Church Family Finance

Financial giving is part of our worship as Christians and balancing our income and expenditure as a church is a discipline we cannot avoid. We do not have significant reserves or large sources of external income. The £2,900 per week we need to fund our ministries is given almost entirely by our members.

The Money Matters leaflet explains how our church finances work and why your giving matters and the video at the bottom of this web-page explains what Christian Giving is all about.

Giving Regularly

The Bible talks about giving being regular (on the first day of the week 1Cor 16:2) as well as generous. Standing orders are a great way to sort that out.

To set up a standing order, please contact your bank.

Our details are as follows:
HSBC bank
Account Name: St Matthews and St Oswalds Church as a charity
(this is a long and odd name, but if you don’t enter it this way (no apostrophe) you will get a message saying ‘partial match’ which is OK and will work, but is disconcerting!).
Account number: 91478176
Sort code: 40-39-11

Giving by Text

Giving By Text
You can now give to the church directly from your mobile.
Text CHURCHGIVE [amount] to 70450 to donate.

For example:
CHURCHGIVE 5 to 70450 donates £5
CHURCHGIVE 20 to 70450 donates £20

Maximum donation in one text is £20. Your mobile provider will probably also place a daily limit on the amount you can give.
Texts cost the donation plus one standard rate message.
Thank you for your generosity.

Gift Aid

If you are a tax-payer, please complete a Gift Aid Form which allows us to add 25% to your gift at no cost to you. You can download one from here and return it to: The Church Office. 1a New Street, Rugby, CV22 7BE.
